Toward the end of the summer and into fall I had many classes and although it seemed that the swell would always arrive at the worst of times (that is if you wanted to freedive), we made the best of it and had a wonderful time doing so!
Every time I facilitate a new class, I feel very fortunate to be presented the opportunity to meet and interact with so many people from diverse backgrounds.
Itβs always interesting to see a new group of students with different experiences come together and most times their expertise gap might vary significantly. At the end of the class, I feel fulfilled when each student seems surprised at how their freediving skills have grown exponentially.
October
What a nice way to end the summer! All of these students had such different types of backgrounds and skillsets but they all had one thing in common..past freediving experience. I feel that this experience helped them to be able to make large gains within a small amount of time. I was able to build upon their foundation created from these past experiences and rebuild it in areas that needed improvements to help them all to meet and exceed expectations. Another successful class and another wonderful learning experience for all of us!
As the new year arrived so did the rain! The pool was freezing but everything in the ocean had just settled down after weeks of bad weather. The visibility was perfect, the sun was out, and the wind was calm throughout this day! An extra bonus..whale sounds are so memorizing underwater!
September
This year we have had a lot of waves and wind yet we still managed to find clear water when it mattered. It is always a pleasure meeting new people and helping them to achieve their goals. In progress..
