Correct Breathing for Freediving
Physiology & Physics for Level 1 Freediver

In-water Environment
Application of safety and problem management, equipment utilization, and freediving technique
Confined water exercises (breath holds up to 3 mins)
Open water practice (up to 20 meters/66ft)

Requirements

Liability Release/Documents
All required documents must be thoroughly read, signed, dated, and completed before the beginning of this course. Upon signing up you will review all documents and agree to the terms stated. Also,  documents will be sent electronically for your review and signature.

Age
16 years or older

Health
Must be in good health. If any medical conditions are present, you must be checked by a doctor and provide a doctor's signature.

Equipment
Wetsuit (Recommended-2 mil, two piece-farmer johns/beaver tail/hood)

Mask with basic strap (Recommended-Low profile freedive mask, silicone skirt, access to nose)

Snorkel (Recommended-Basic j snorkel)

Fins (Recommended-Freedive fins with soft blades and fit snugly with 1-3 mil neoprene sock)

Weight belt (Recommended-Rubber belt without holes and pin but with metal buckle release)

Weights (Recommended-One and two lb. increments)

Timing device  (Recommended-Basic waterproof watch with chrono function or Aeris F10 for those of you looking for a dedicated freedive watch)

Duration

Days

This course takes place over three days (usually on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday mornings depending on circumstances. Due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are now able to offer the Friday evening portion (academics) online via Google Meet.

The other option is a two-day course usually only during June-July, December, and March. Please click the "click here to sign up" at the top of this page to check available courses.

(3 Day Courses) Time Requirements

Day 1-Academic work (4 hr) (ONLINE ONLY)

Day 2-Confined water training (3.5 hr) + 1 hour of homework (reading and practice test) (IN PERSON)

Day 3-Open water depth training (4 hr) + 30 min for written assessment. (IN PERSON)

(2 Day Courses) Time Requirements

Day 1-Academic work (4 hr) and confined water training (3 hr) + 1 hour of homework (reading and practice test) (ONLINE ONLY/IN PERSON)

Day 2-Open water depth training (3 hr)+ 30 min for written assessment (IN PERSON)

Tuition:

The regular price for this course is $400.00.*

Private courses are typically 550.00* per person.

Deposit:

50% of the tuition cost must be paid upon signing up. All deposits are non-refundable (cancellation fees apply).

I will contact students via e-mail before the start date to provide course information and details. Information relating to location will be shared on a live document through Google Docs so please continue to check your e-mail notifications regarding course-related documents.
